If it Fits it Ships — NO PUPS PLEASE!
Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 03:17PM After hearing the news (a few months ago) that a woman from Minnesota was attempting to mail a puppy to Atlanta, I was curious to see what items could be mailed through the Unites States Postal Service.
While mailing some things clearly pose a safety hazard (firearms, explosives, etc.), there are a few surprises that will make into the mail stream if properly packaged and identified by a knowledgeable shipper.
BEES
If disease free and the queen may be accompanied by up to eight honey bees.
SCORPIONS
Only if for medical research or manufacture of antivenin.
BIRDS
Express mail only and must be packaged properly. Weight limit of 6 oz. or more.
Looking to mail something out of the ordinary? The link below is a great reference for mailing various items through the Post Office. It also is an expanded/detailed list of the items listed above if you're in need of mailing something exotic.
